Two Victories

The final plays from the 2009 and 2010 BCS National Championship games.  Cheers to the great football state of Alabama – producing the last two national champions and the last two Heisman trophy winners.  I think we can keep the streak alive in 2011.  This one is somewhat reminiscent, in my mind, of Two Histories from August 2009.

Sugar Bowl Bound!

That’s called “putting a positive spin on things.”  :-)

But, seriously…. Utah?  We’re supposed to be excited about that?  It’s going to be Georgia-Hawaii all over again.  Why does the SEC get saddled with these pipsqueak opponents?  And, the sad thing is, given Bama’s tendency to play to the level of their opponent, it ought to be a close game.  Star Jackson next year.  We’re going to be unstoppable.

ps – that Tebow is a f@#king freak of nature.

Commemorative Iron Bowl Post

AUBURN ALABAMA IRONBOWL08

Bama wins 36-0… the largest margin of victory since 1962!!!  Awesome, guys.  Now let’s go win the SEC.

Alabama vs. Mississippi State

Now it is time to throw the two-year mediocrity monkey off our backs once and for all.  For the past two years we have wallowed in the “rebuilding” doldrums, and the jewel in that crown was the L next to Miss. St. on our schedule.  It is going to feel very good to dig ourselves out of that embarrassing hole.  I mean, we have a well-documented losing streak to Auburn too, but at least for most of those years Auburn has had a fairly good football team.  Not so with the Bulldogs.

Furthermore, throughout Mike Shula’s tenure, we had to endure that crybaby Croom’s bitching and moaning about how he wasn’t given a fair shot at the Bama job.  Racism, etc.  I want to see him slink through the gates of Bryant-Denny with his head hung in shame – thoroughly convinced of his and his team’s ineptitude.  I try not to take football personally, but that man is an asshole.

Updates at halftime and pictures at game’s end.  Good luck, fellas.  Let’s go into the Iron Bowl undefeated.

UPDATE:

Halftime score – 12-7 Alabama.  Their defense is really putting some pressure on JP.  I am not really worried, but I have an inkling of dread that perhaps I should be.  The Bulldogs are certainly not backing down.  2nd half will tell the tale.  Hopefully we’ll adjust.

FINAL UPDATE:

32-7  Nicely done.  AU next.  Rest up, guys.  It isn’t going to be easy.

Alabama @ Tennessee

I cannot wait until this one is over.  On paper we should not have any problems.  But then, one could have said the same thing about Tulane or Kentucky or Ole Miss.  I hope Nick has got these guys focused.

UPDATE:

Alabama 13, Tennessee 3 at halftime.

I don’t really have any complaints.  We are playing well.  We aren’t making many mistakes.  Tennessee’s defense is a lot better than I thought it would be.  JP is taking a pounding, but we’ve done what we have needed to do.  Here’s hoping we don’t hit the 2nd half slump.

UPDATE:

Final score – Bama 29, Tenn. 9.

Now that was fun to watch.  We finally played a full game.  And, of course, it couldn’t happened against a nicer coach.  But in all seriousness, Saban has got to be pleased with this one.  I feel much, much better about our chances from here on out.  Roll Tide Roll.  Homecoming next.
